Exclusive vs Non-Exclusive Licensing

When buying a beat license, you'll choose between two types: non-exclusive and exclusive. Non-exclusive license Lower cost — more affordable for artists on a budget. The same beat can be licensed to other artists too. Works well for independent projects, mixtapes, and creative content. Exclusive license Higher cost — you're paying for full ownership and exclusivity. No other artist can purchase that beat after you. Best suited for major releases and label submissions. Not sure which to pick? If the beat is central to a commercial release, exclusive is the safer choice. For demos, content, or lower-budget projects, non-exclusive is usually enough.
